Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 celery ribs, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (14-1/2 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup cold water, divided
  • 1/4 cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp king arthur unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 lb uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cups hot cooked long grain rice
