Chili Powder Shrimp Creole

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1⁄2 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1⁄2 cup onion, diced
  • 1⁄2 cup celery, diced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 can (14 ounce) tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 ounce) tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • 1 salt
  • 1 pepper
  • 1 1⁄2 lb shrimp , peeled and deveined
  • 1 scallion, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat a crock pot on High.2. In a frying pan, heat olive oil. Add peppers, onions and celery. Cook until softened. Add chili powder and saute until caramelized. 3. Remove from heat and pour into the crock pot. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, white sugar, salt and pepper.4. Cook for 3 hours. Add shrimp and cook for about 3 minutes. Serve over rice and top with chopped scallions.
